Our Mission for Our Youth
Here at Saginaw Church of Christ we strive to aid our families and their youth to become not only believers, but disciples of Christ. We try to achieve this by showing them God's love through our life and actions as a church family, which in turn will help them fall in love with God and those He loves. We hope that by doing this we will, by the power of God, multiply disciples for His church that will remain faithful their entire lives.
Our youth minister Riley Watkins works closely with parents and teens alike. He believes that the combination of family, ministers, teachers and mentors is the key to creating a strong disciple of Jesus Christ whose faith will be passed down generation after generation. Sunday mornings we have divided high school and middle school classes. Our Sunday morning classes are geared more towards deep textual study of God's word to help further the youth's spiritual maturity and knowledge of God's will. Our middle school class meets in the annex and the high school class meets up stairs in the youth room. Wednesday night class is our flagship class for the youth group. We have a combined class with 6th-12th grade that is taught by our youth minister. Wednesday night class is very casual and usually covers several topical studies relevant to everyday-life of a teenager that will challenge them to grow and become a disciple of Christ. Class will sometimes consist with a time of singing, games, study, announcements about upcoming events, prayer and different activities relevant to the youth. Wednesday combined class is located upstairs in the youth room. Youth Class Links
From time to time our Youth Minister, Riley Watkins, will post links to materials or sites used for topical discussion in his classes.
