"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." (NIV) - John 13:34

Purpose

We are a Christ-centered family
reaching up to God,
reaching out to others,
and leading our community
and the world to Jesus Christ.
Our Mission
We are committed to glorifying God through worship, to loving each other through fellowship, to helping others through ministry, and to making disciples for Jesus through evangelizing, educating, and equipping.

  • Glorifying God...
We seek to honor God in God in all we do, especially in our worship. We strive to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Matthew 22:34-40; Mark 12:28-31). God is spirit, and Christians should worship in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). Therefore, our worship each Sunday includes praising God with songs from our hearts, taking the Lord's Supper, giving back to God, praying to Him, and instructing each other in His word. Each worship service is designed to glorify God and to lift up each believer. (Romans 12:1-2; 1 John 1:3.)

  • Loving each other...
The Saginaw church is a family of believers that is Christ-centered. This means we strive to imitate Jesus in our relationships to each other and to the world. We meet together for worship, Bible classes, fellowship meals, devotionals, and game nights. We grow together as we teach and mentor each other. We build lasting friendships. Our families mature. There is something for everyone in God's family. (1 John 1:7, 3:11; Acts 2:42; John 13:34-35, 17:11,22; 1 Corinthians 10:17.)

  • Helping others...
While our number one goal is to help people get to heaven, Jesus has also taught us to help the poor, the sick, the widows, and the orphans in this life. Our church members look out for each other and work to meet each other's needs. We maintain a small pantry of non-perishable foods, and we do occasional projects (e.g. Christmas food baskets) to help families in our community. (Luke 10:26-37; James 1:27; Matthew 25:31-46.)

  • Making disciples for Jesus...
Jesus commissioned his disciples to win as many as possible. As a church, we are committed to this mission on multiple levels. We have education programs for all ages. We proclaim the Word to the people of our community, and we support foreign missionaries. The continuous process of discipleship involves: persuading others to love Jesus and become His disciples through faith, repentance, and immersion; teaching them to obey everything He taught us; and equipping them to do ministry in and out of the church. Our development is an ongoing transformation into the likeness of Jesus, so we learn to turn from sin, to beat addictions, to be healthy Christians. Christ is our perfect pattern, so we strive to become like Him. We await His return to take God's children home to our everlasting inheritance. (Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 2:36-39; Ephesians 2:8-10, 4:11-16; 1 Peter 1:3-5; Revelation 22:12-17; Matthew 25:31-46.)
